INCOMING FRESHMEN/NEW TO PROGRAM PARENT/PLAYER MEETING WILL BE HELD TUESDAY 4/21/26 AT 6:30PM IN THE SOUTH LIBRARY. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN PLAYING VOLLEYBALL YOU WILL WANT TO BE AT THIS MEETING!

Opportunity to come learn more about the program, meet coaches, ask questions, get workouts, and learn about summer opportunities.

TRY OUTS – Wed Aug 5th,  Thurs Aug 6th,  and Fri Aug 7th  2026

Expected to attend all three days of tryouts.                                                 

Must have all forms submitted, fees paid, and golden ticket before tryouts.

      Time Investment:

  • Season runs 8/5/2026-approx 10/31/2026 for C and JV teams and thru 11/14 for Varsity.
  • Practice begins 8/10. Varsity and JV may practice twice a day before school starts.
  • Practice or match minimum 2 hours per day 4-6 days per week with an occasional tournament on a few Saturdays throughout the season.
  • Home matches– Varsity works c team matches, c team works JV matches and JV works Varsity matches. All teams are expected to stay and support Varsity home games.
  • Attendance is mandatory to all practices, games, scrimmages, tournaments and team functions. Appointments and vacations should be scheduled around volleyball if possible. When an athlete accepts a spot in the South Volleyball Program they are making a commitment to themselves, teammates and coaches and are expected to be at all events.
  • Fundraising is expected at all levels which include banner sales, coffee sales, and working South Camp the following summer.

Important Program Standards to Note:

You must hold a 2.0 GPA to be eligible to play but we expect a 3.0. All freshmen are immediately eligible their first year. We are students first and strive for success in the classroom.  We do grade checks periodically throughout the season.

              All rules in the ASD Activities Handbook are adhered to.

Summer Opportunities for Incoming Freshman

              Open gyms- Tues/Thurs 6:00-8:00 hopefully beginning in June

              Advanced camp- 6/1-6/3 5:30-8:00 register on our website or facebook.
